The puppies are 5 weeks old today and nothing can compare to the cuteness of this stage. It makes up for the bigger messes they now leave me... but we won't get into that. In fact, before we dive into the puppies I wanted to share one of the most detailed reviews I've ever received from one of our puppy owners and gives a really complete picture of what I hope will be your experience bringing home one of our pups.
Redwood was from our 2024 litter and was 3 1/2 months old at this time of this video. Â This heartwarming description of one of Lucy and Hamish's pups says it all. Â
Â
In a more recent message this is the update we have on sweet Red, now 15 months: "Redwood has grown into a wonderful family dog. Â He is just under 60 pounds. Â Tall and slender and very fast. Â He has bonded to our children and chooses to sleep in our oldest daughter's bed every night. Â He is very affectionate, and giving him attention only makes him want more! Â He loves being outside and will run on the trails on our property to entertain himself. He still does great with our chickens and herds them into their coop easily. Â He gets along great with our other dog and 2 cats. Â He does a good job of chasing off any dogs that don't belong here. Â He has an independent and somewhat stubborn temperament but responds well to firm correction. Â He has been a great addition to our property!"
And now some new puppy photos! If you haven't already found me, we're on Facebook and Instagram and I try to post recent videos for you to enjoy them as they grow up. My favorite thing about a 5 week old puppy is their cubby little rear ends wagging their adorable "Shepherd's Lantern". Ever heard of it? This is the traditional description for the white tip on a dog's tail which shepherds would use as a guiding light, helping them follow the dog back home after a long day of herding. I just love that!
Until the next update!
